Glass fiber filter cartridges

Pleated glass fiber filter cartridges for hydrophilic applications

Glass fiber is a hydrophilic filter medium, and these hydrophilic properties make it easier for aqueous dispersions or solutions to pass through the filter, unlike polypropylene filters which are very hydrophobic.

Glass fiber filters deliver a high performance for sub-micron filtration of dispersions, such as color resist, UV lacquers, polymer solutions, inks, or polishing slurries. This applies to both deformable (gels) and non-deformable particles!

Moreover, they are utilized as pre-filters in processes within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, with the purpose of protecting membrane filters, chromatography, and ultrafiltration systems.

The glass fibers can effectively retain colloidal particles.

The resin-bonded, pleated micro-glass fibre filter media enables submicron filtration with low pressure loss, high removal efficiency and a long service life.

The resin-bonded fibre matrix prevents media migration, even with highly viscous liquids.

Applications:

  • Prefiltration sterile membrane filtration
  • Pre-filter chromatography
  • UV lacquers
  • Inks
  • Polishing slurries

We present these two high quality glass fiber filter cartridges:

SAINT GOBAIN NCG

The Saint-Gobain NCG pleated glass fibre filter cartridges have a high retention capacity. Their pleated GF filter medium provides a maximum surface area.

The micro-glass fibre filter media built into a polypropylene cartridge offer excellent chemical compatibility and can be easily sterilized if required.

NCG filter cartridges are performing well in reducing microorganisms or microgels. Additionally, they demonstrate excellent flow and pressure drop performance.

They are recommended for demanding applications where the retention of both deformable and non-deformable particles, as well as excellent flow, are important.

Saint-Gobain guarantees the products are manufactured in an ISO 13485-certified plant, offering maximum product safety and quality assurance and meeting all requirements for such applications.

CSM PGP

PGP glass fiber filter cartridges feature a unique, highly effective integrated pre-filter layer made of polypropylene melt-blown. This pre-filter layer improves the performance of the entire cartridge, particularly when filtering liquids with a wide particle distribution.

PGP filter cartridges are used in the submicron filtration of dispersions. They are used in many different products. For example, they are used in UV coatings, polymer or monomer solutions, inks, pigment dispersions, or other nano- or micro-slurries.

They are the right choice for demanding industrial applications where excellent retention of both deformable particles (gels) and non-deformable particles (agglomerates) is important.
